In recent years, with the rapid progress of Internet technology, computer technology and video image processing technology, Video surveillance technology is developing toward networking, digital and intelligent direction. Meanwhile the vigorous video surveillance market has a higher demand for video image clarity and stability. For this reason, we design and develop a high-performance embedded video server. The network video server based on the Freescale video processing chip Imx27 running on the Linux operating environment. Using short connection to complete the interaction between the server and clients, which effectively save system resources and reduce the CPU utilization of the sever. Moreover, in order to obtain high quality video images, the server adopts an adaptive de-interlacing algorithm based on the use of splicing and interpolation on static and moving picture respectively to realize de-interlacing of the video image, which guarantees the integrity of the video data and improve the video clarity. In the end of this paper, the print screen of the server is given, achieving the desired designed goal. There are five chapters in this paper:The first chapter mainly introduces the background and significance of this topic, the history and current status of video surveillance system, the advantages of embedded network video surveillance system, and the trend of video surveillance system development is discussed in the end.The second chapter is mainly focused on some key technology of this topic, including video compression algorithm, H.264 encoding technology, ARM core processor, Embedded Linux operation system features, finally introduced video image de-interlacer.The third chapter is mainly introduced video server's hardware architecture, including Imx27 chips, Tvp5150 core chips and video servers circuit module design. The fourth chapter is focused on video server software design, including software architecture, Bootloader introduction, Linux operation system migration, File system presentation and production, finally highlighting the application software design. The fifth chapter is an engineer application of the video server we developed, and the result is also given, finally the next step we should take to improve the video server is also given in the end of this paper.
