In order to overcome the drawbacks of the traditional method of training forging machine operators in forging and stamping, technology of virtual reality is used in training process, and establishes "Forging Machine Three-dimensional Simulation Training System". Simulation training system is the virtual environment which is suitable for training and generated by the use of virtual reality technology.Training system shows the forging process to the operator on the screen, and tells the correct operation to the operator. System achieves training operators under the premise of without affecting the actual production, and greatly shortens the training cycle, compensate for the limitations of the original approach to training.Three-dimensional simulation of forging manipulator is an important part of training system.The most motions of forging manipulator include clamp moving up and down, moving left and right, sloping up and down, rotating left and right, and manipulator moving forward and back. Manipulator has the typical characteristics of the mechanical structure. It has a total of 9 tanks control the motion of clamp. As the 9 tanks acting on the clamp at the same time, there are linkage relationships between every component of manipulator which control the clamp.The paper focuses on solving two problems which are the establishment of forging manipulator model and the simulation of forging manipulator machine's motions, and uses three key technologies on three-dimensional simulation of the forging manipulator in solving problems.In the establishment of modeling, SolidWorks software, professional modeling tools, is used to establish three-dimensional manipulator model. Based on the analysis of structures and movement of forging manipulator, manipulator model is split into various independent components, and export to VRML model file, and then import the VRML model file into Java3D by VRML97 plug-in. In the motions simulation of forging manipulator, the basic principle of joints animation based on kinematics is used in solving problems on linkage relationships between various parts of forging manipulator. And system use Java3D thread technology to make the simulation of forging manipulator. accordding to the input of the user, opportunely calculates the position and rotation of each component, and shows the user forging manipulator's state in anytime, makes the simulation of the forging manipulator.This topic has a certain theoretical value and practical value, actually simulates various motion of the forging manipulator and accurately simulates the linkage of each components. "Forging Machine Three-dimensional Simulation Training System" has delivered.
