The fast development of Internet makes the information exchanges and resources share in the world scope possible. With continuous advance of computer capability and ever-lasting drop of price, the computerized hospital information system has become the absolutely necessary infrastructure and technique-supported environment of modern hospital operation. For the realization of the effective exchange with international information exchange and the extensive share of data resource, the standardization of database as core of information system has become a pivotal problem.DICOM3.0 is the latest edition of DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine).It sustains the Open System Interconnection Protocol and Network Standard Protocol and is based on entity-relation model. Its application has included all fields of medical image. The object-oriented and open characters are in favor of their own continuous development and perfection. My thesis is to establish international medical standardized database based on DICOM3.0.For the inner support of DICOM3.0, there is no need to develop special interface. We only need to develop corresponding middleware and make use of computer network technique of DICOM to connect to a database supporting same standard. For the same reason, we can lay the foundation for the establishment of Medicine international system.DICOM makes it possible for different digital imaging equipment to exchange information under standard network frame. It permits digital imaging device adopted DICOM. For different digital imaging equipment, interconnect and operation must be test for compatible.Medical imaging database is the center of data storage in hospital information system, and it is the base of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) and other medical imaging information systems. DICOM is widely used in digital imaging equipment. DICOM adopts the analysis method of object. It defined a lot of class of medical imaging, regulated the form and protocol of movable medium information switch under network. But DICOM do not regulate material demands of data store, it will be decided by operator. It will be all right for the file form satisfied. This gives the design of imaging database and realization a big space.Because database system can't sustain large recorder of imaging in that time, imaging store adopts file in all PACS system. With the development of relation database in recent year, and especially sustained for large database, it is possible for imaging store in database. For all system data are managed in database, security and integrality are guaranteed. It makes the system have good stability and maintenance, and it is ease to training. It is suits to use in medical clinic. Though object database suits imaging data, it still has problems of commercial and reliability. We adopt common relation database for DICOM medical imaging database.Image Imaging IOD (Digital Intra-oral X-Ray Image IOD) of DICOM compose four layer, they are Patient, Study, Series and Image.Medical imaging store and transform system are main parts of modern medical information manage system, and DICOM is kernel of modern medical information manage system to realized interconnect of different imaging equipment. TCP/IP is a open network protocol, it is used in network communication abroad. Because large modern medical information manage system are base on TCP/IP protocol, it is important to modern medical information manage system under form of DICOM.With China and the international medical world research DICOM Standard, study DICOM and its various components, DICOM images of standardized equipment, the establishment of a standardized system, PACS, is worth people's attention.
