A Usability Study And Design Of Transaction Security On Internet Banking

One of the most important issues enters into consideration is Internet Banking security. In recent years, the problem become seriously which hackers steal users' money with interpolating transaction information. Some researches show that there are 20% online transactions at risk though the Internet Banking has used more security measures and the main reason is the unsuitable operations due to the factor of human psychology and physiology. This paper will try to improve the security of Internet Banking focusing on this security problem with usability engineering methods. The investigation concludes as follows.First, literature review. Understand the situation of Internet Banking at home and abroad by literature review. Summarize the main aspects which make the Internet Banking in danger and determine the research direction.Second, obtain the awareness of security and the operation habits of users. Select the bank that has a largest number of users based on the results of the questionnaire as the object to study. Gain awareness of security and operation habits by interview and questionnaire, and then make the user profile in order to recruit for user testing later.Third, build user model. Construct task model and mental model by user testing, observation, interview, questionnaire and the awareness of security and the operation habits of the users.Fourth, redesign the Internet Banking. According to the user model, get an ideal design with the methods of Participatory Design and Heuristic Analysis.Fifth, validate the redesign of Internet Banking. Test the redesign Internet Banking the same user testing as before. Verify the security and the usability of the prototype by comparing the two tests and analysis the usability questionnaire.Improve the security of Internet Banking while it has a good usability by exploratory development from the aspect of usability.
