Currently there has been great advancement on wideband high frequency(WBHF) technique, in which the research on wideband and quasi-wideband(QWB) HF channel is important. But conventional channel model is in application only to narrowband channel, and the design of wideband and QWB channel model is in arrears relatively.In this thesis, the study of the transmission characteristics and the channel features of the HF channel has been made, then a summary of current modeling methods that are exoteric internationally is given with the applied area and the existent problem of each method. The 3kHz bandwidth channel simulator in the laboratory has been analysed with some present problems. On the basis of project demand, a 24kHz bandwidth QWB channel model has been designed with the analysis of the narrowband Watterson Model and the wideband ITS Model,of which fade model and noise model have been improved. In addition, some hardwares of the QWB channel simulator are introduced briefly, such as high-performance floating-point DSP TMS320C6713 and low-power stereo audio codec TLV320AIC3106.Finally, the work of the thesis is summarized and some advices are given about the future work.
