The wireless communication channel is the most fundamental part of the wireless communication system. The modeling and simulation for the wireless communication is of great importance to design and research of the wireless communication systems, therefore, conducting research on the wireless channel with theoretical and practical value.The dissertation embarked from the propagation characteristics of radio waves, go on research on the radio wave propagation model of wireless channel and the channel parameters, the small-scale fading channel model which may have a major impact on the baseband signal processing have been studied; the plural signal and the baseband channel impulse response model have been discussed, then give out the model of various wireless communications systems such as SISO, SIMO, MISO, MIMO.Multipath effects and Doppler effects are the most important factors which will impact the small-scale fading. In this dissertation multipath effect and the Doppler effect of wireless channel have been studied and simulated, and focus on the channel model flat fading channel and frequency selection channel ,give out the simulation of them.HF communication is one of the most important wireless communications means, and has an important position in modern communication, which is an indispensable means for a long-distance communication. Compared with other wireless channel, HF channel has its own characteristics, based on the research of wireless channel, the dissertation studies the characteristics of HF channel, then studies the structure and the simulation algorithm of one of the important HF channel model, Watterson model; last establish a software simulation platform based on the Matlab.Finally, based on Watterson channel model, provided the implementation program of a FPGA-based programmable HF channel simulator and the key technology and implementation methods have been analyzed. The channel Simulator can give a real-time simulation of narrow-band HF channel, such as multipath delay, Rayleigh fading, the Doppler frequency shift, and so on, the main technical indicators have reached the design requirements. The simulator has a simple hardware structure with high universality; it can be integrated into some receiver which is being developed in order to the test the performance.
