Laser Radar Cross Section (LRCS) is a key parameter for characteristics of laser scattering by objects, and has wide applications in the fields of national defence, military affairs, remote sensing, navigation, et al. The research on LRCS and its scale model is of great application value. This thesis is devoted to the LRCS for regular objects and its scale model. The fundamental theory of LRCS is introduced. The theoretical value of LRCS is calculated and analysed, using the Kirchhofff Approximation (KA) as the theory of rough surface scattering. The system principle and use-method of the auto-measurement are presented. The origin auto-measurement system is improved, including optical beam expander and measurement software,to advance automaticity of the origin system., and meet the requirement of measuring different dimensional objects. The improved auto-measurement system is employed to the measurement of backward LRCS of a group of global objects,a group of pillar objects, and bistatic LRCS of taper objects. Make comparisons between experimental results and theoretical ones, and analyze the cause of error, and analyse the relation among their scale models.
