With the development of communication and network technology, MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Networks) are used more and more widely in this world. How to design a kind of Routing Protocol which is able to support well performance Mobile Ad hoc networks is a challenging task. In this paper, Mobile ad hoc networks and the existing Routing Protocols for Mobile Ad hoc networks are introduced. Then, AZR (Adaptive Zone Routing Protocol) with the technology of group mobility is proposed. Then, AZR is completed by OPNET Modeler and the simulation results show that it is superior to the traditional ZRP (Zone Routing Protocol) and FSR (Fisheye Routing Protocol) in overhead and delay. Based on the study of AZR, AZR with the technology of group mobility is simulated and analyzed specifically in terms of group mode, channel rate, mobile speed and network size. Also, MAZR (MIMO Adaptive Zone Routing Protocol) based on MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology is proposed to improve the performance of AZR. We perform theoretical analysis of MIMO technology on the performance optimization of network capacity. Finally, Simulations are implemented and then the synthetically performance advantages of MAZR protocol are testified through the results.
