Product configuration based on personal customization is considered as the core content to achieve mass customization, therefore, studying of product configuration theory and its implenment method has important practical significance. First of all, combining with the enterprise project demands, the requirements-oriented product configuration technique is investigated, and a model to analyze individual requirements is proposed too. Subsequently, personalized product configuration plans are carried on, and product configuration optimization methods are put forward. Finally, the optimization method and technique presented in this dissertation is applied to an air compressor, and it shows that the method and technique possess considerable feasibility and validity.Chapter 1 introduces the concept and connotation of the customized product configuration, and it also provides an overview of research status related to product configuration. Then the shortages of current product configuration design are analyzed. In the end the research content and the frame of the dissertation are presented.In chapter 2, the customization model based on customer needs is described, and its mapping mechanism to the product structure model is given out too. Customization orders obtained from different sources are analyzed and classified by using a new analytical combined model, in which product attributes, conjoint analysis and cluster analysis are integrated, then the detailed information are introduced into the personalized customer demands modeling. Considering of matrixes, such as the similarity matrix between customer demands and functional demands, the mapping matrix between functional demands and product structure, and so on, the weighting coefficients of customer requirements are determined. Accordingly, rules of correspondence between customization needs and the product functional-structure model have been established.In chapter 3, the product configuration planning founded on customization has been put forward. In compliance with the principles of personalized configuration modeling, the framework of personalized product configuration model is established grounded on the product function model and the structural model. Finally, particular discussion about the platform selection, database design and configuration process design has been carried out.Chapter 4 studies the multi-objective optimum techniques based on fuzzy method. Firstly, the optimal objective function is presented by analyzing the relationship between the performance requirements and cases of parts and assemblies. Secondly, the constraint functions are established by thinking over some factors, such as the product price, the customs' demands, and so on. Then the optimization mathematical model of individual customization product has been presented. To solve the optimization mathematical model, the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm is adopted, in which the cross-operators and elitist selection strategy are modified. Lastly, the best configuration is proposed by using the fuzzy set theory as a selection criterion.In chapter 5, selecting the air compressor as the application object, a customization product configuration system is developed. What's more, this product configuration system has been applied in an enterprise successfully. What's more, it reveals that the theory and methods mentioned above possess both feasibility and practicability.Chapter 6 summarizes the main research content and advancement of the study, and some prospects for future reaearch work have been presented too.
