With the development of Internet and maturation of software application, SaaS(Software as a Service) comes out as a new software architecture model in 21 century that broke up the Entrance Cost of the software sales tradition way. It provides the all-round and practical ,cheap but high quality software servise by software leasing and deploying enterprise application over the web which reduces the burden of deploying information system for the medium and small enterprises, so the SaaS model provides another way to carry out the Enterprises informatization.The existing CAPP(Computer Aided Process Planning) changes the emphases from the data acquisition of whole-part and the automation of making strategic decision for craftwork to management of the structure of the craftwork data and the design function, shifts the keystones form the automation of process engineering to the point of the whole product design. That makes a point that the original heavy cost CAPP is not meet the requirements of the manufacturing enterprise.In order to improve the Computer Aided Process Planning Service for the medium and small enterprises, this article analyses the pros and cons of the Computer Aided Process Planning Service for the medium and small enterprises and characteristics of SaaS , that is multi-user, configurable and high efficiency which meet the difficulty on the way of improving the Service. As a result, this article advances the Computer Aided Process Planning Service on the base of SaaS which offers the more convenient way of accessing the knowledge and advanced technology about the computer aided process planning, standardizes the process of computer aided process planning, promotes cooperation in the enterprises and enterprises informationization.
