Research And Application Of Embedded Web Server On Network Exam System

With computer hardware and software technology continues to develop, and with computer embedded and network technology continues to integrate, embedded Web server came into being. In the field of the computer educational technology, the miniaturization and networking of the equipments are one of the main directions of development. So for the embedded Web server used in network exam systems, the applications and practice have important research significance, and its system architecture design method is of universal guiding significance.In this paper, after in-depth research and analysis on the development direction of the current embedded technology and browser/server network technology, the scenario to achieve Web server and database management system design in the embedded development board is firstly proposed. Then the hardware resources of QT9261 development board and the performance of embedded Linux operating system are analyzed, and the porting task of the embedded Linux operating system on ARM microprocessor development board is fulfilled. After the hardware platform and operating system platform are established, and the existing major Web server software and database management software are studied; Boa and mSQL are selected respectively as the Web server and database management systems, and integrated into an embedded platform together. Finally, using the Perl language, calling the CGI interface and the DBI interface, network exam system software design is completed.In the above course of their work, this paper proposes following two aspects of innovation:1. By analyzing the limited resources of embedded systems, this paper chooses as far as possible compact solution to satisfy the system functional requirements, and brings together these resources for Web applications.2. This paper uses the embedded Web server with limited resources to design a complete set of practical Web software system.Finally, this network exam system is tested in the students' practise room of Computer Center in East China Normal University.
