Data disaster tolerances as one kind of data security technology is offer the last line of defense for data by copying the data to disaster tolerant centre at real time. From now on, lots of researches have been done, but it still has some problems: First, storage subsystems as infra-structure have great different structure. This made it difficult to build a disaster tolerant system. Next, single storage technology didn't have the ability to satisfy all kind of industry. The last, if it can't guarantee the security of backup data, it's worse than no backup for sensitivity information.For above problems, this paper deeply researches the related content with key technologies for backup of disaster tolerant data based on virtual storage, and the main works are as follows:1. Making a deep analysis about the affection of storage technology in disaster tolerant sys-tem to select virtual storage technology as support base to implement data backup. After analyzing the present research of virtual storage and its application in disaster tolerant system, the challenge of this application has been proposed, and the enter-point of this paper has been pointed out.2. Based on the structure of virtual manager in computer system and the requirement analysis of disaster tolerance system, a network virtual storage model and a disaster tolerant architecture based on this network model have been designed. In view of the characteristic of existed virtual storage mapping mechanism, a virtual storage mapping and caching mechanism have been designed. Then based on this mapping mechanism, a data disaster tolerance policy has been set down. These build a whole disaster tolerant running mechanism.3. After deeply analyzing the virtual disk technology, the idea of using virtual disk trans-parent encryption technology to implement the protection of backup data have been proposed. At last, it's made an analysis about action that this encryption mechanism doing on the disaster tolerant system.4. Based on the deep research about the above theory and the thorough analysis about the basic structure and running process of Windows storage stack, a disaster tolerance-oriented virtual storage prototype system have been designed, and part of function of this system have been validated.From the above work, the disaster tolerant system based on virtual storage technology that proposed in this paper is more suitable for all kinds of disaster tolerant users, and more fitable for actual application requirement. It's providing a theory and technical support for building a disaster tolerance-oriented virtual storage prototype system.
