Based on the literatures,the history of mould industry,particularly the mould CAD technology was introduced in detail.Also the application of CAD technology on mould and the advantage of it were showed expressly.Considering on the prospect and practical situation,mould CAD system was developed to realize the intellectualized and automatic design.This paper focuses on a system for blanking dies which is built by using the re-develop of Pro/ENGINEER,based on Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and Pro/TOOLKIT.The parameterized parts database of the blanking die are established in Pro/E;The parameterized design database of blanking die is established by using Access 2003;The application program of this system compiled by using Pro/TOOLKIT and VC makes the friendly interface come true.The blanking die CAD system are set up by realizing the seamless integration among each application module,database module and Pro/E system through Pro/TOOLKIT interface program design and ODBC which is the technology about integrating between MFC and ACCESS.According to the design access of blanking dies,the system includes part parameterized module,layout module,process calculation module,assembly and assembly drawing module on the typical of progressive bending die.We can design all parts of the mold by using the system easily,and get assembly and assembly drawing conveniently. When modifying parameters of the part.Owing to the entire relativity of Pro/E,assembly drawing and detail drawings can automatically modify themselves.The design of the blanking die is become easier,and the design speed of the blanking die is become faster than traditional design.By testing the program,it runs smoothly.It achieved the anticipated research purpose.
