The technology of IR and thermal image can be used in detecting the fault of electronics in virtue of the high capability of thermal instruments and digital image process. In the middle 1960s, it began to be applied in detecting the fault of electronic facility in foreign countries. In the 1970s, thermal instrument had been installed in helicopter to detect the connection of power line and the determinant standard about infrared test had been established. In the middle 1980s, IR technology had a comprehensive application on the fault of Print Circuit Board (PCB). But there are many shortages in the traditional technique because it is invasive.The paper mailly contain:In the first chapter, he infrared diagnosing technology, based on infrared inspection of thermo-field and image analyzing is introduced ,including the application.The second chapter gives the history background, development and principle of the IR test.In the third chapter, some basic algorithms of digital signal process in details such as gray transformation and histogram correction and some image filtering methods is introduced.In the fourth chapter ,based on the analysis to the noises forming mechanism and their characteristics ,several different de-noise and enhancement algorithms are proposed to restrain noises influence and enhance the contrast of infrared images. For aiming at the infrared images in real-time implementation, an adaptive image enhancement algorithm based on plateau histogram equalization are used in this thesis. By adaptively selecting the plateau threshold value ,this algorithm can enhance the targets and constrain the background noises.The investigation on infrared image processing is implemented theoretically and simulating experimentally, and some preferable results are obtained. The theoretical limits and the difficulties of algorithm are discussed, and the measures to improve the efficiency of algorithm are suggested .The works here are essential for further research on the study of infrared image processing.
