| With several years' development, Cable Digital TV Network is being combined with communication network and Internet. This gives Digital TV service providers enormous business opportunities. Business diversification has become an irresistible trend. But with the competition in Digital TV service, the old Digital TV service systems don't satisfy the customers' demand on time. So it is necessary to upgrade business systems for Digital TV service providers. SMS plays an important role in Digital TV platform. It faces rapid changes and complex business logic in business logical system. So we use workflow technology to manage process logic and facilitate the development during developing SMS. It can improve the scalability and maintainability of whole system.Workflow technology is the core technology about process management and modeling. It can be combined with other business logic system to generate other kinds of useful business system. These business systems can separate the process logic from the applications conveniently. They can generate application software system flexibly according to those concrete requirements. At the same time they can reengineer the whole application to implement the requirements when customers' business processes change.In this paper we present and analyze the lightweight and embedded workflow concepts. We research the application of workflow technology in Digital TV SMS according to the features and requirements of this system. We design and implement a lightweight and embedded workflow system during developing a Digital TV SMS. We present principle basis, system architecture, functional components, and key implementation technology of this lightweight and embedded workflow system in SMS. The key implementation includes process definition parsing and process instance navigation. At last we describe the way in which we can apply this lightweight and embedded workflow in Digital TV SMS and analyze a concrete business procedure. |
