| The improvement of corporate and citizens' legal and rights awareness, there is also increase of various disputes in courts. The so-called news disputes are increasing in the news circle. For one hand, people have the right to know things in the world; for the other hand, people who are supervised by the news media, their right of reputation tend to be easily violated by the way of critical reports in sake of supervision of the public opinion. Thus, the news institutes are troubled into the dilemma of their report actions.Nowadays, since the settlement of news dispute is mainly focus on litigation in China, news agencies likely to be litigated once the news dispute happened. The complicated procedures of litigation and the excessively bureaucratic are all daunted the news agencies.In the environment of constructing harmonious society, there is emergent to establish pluralism of settlement system for news dispute. The author gathered and analyzed materials of news dispute settlement both home and abroad, and analyzes the practical ways of establishing arbitration mechanism of news dispute in China that based on mature arbitration mechanism of news dispute in west countries, in order to construct Chinese model of arbitration mechanism of news dispute.
