Also, it is the application of GIS in managing and constructing highway that plays a greatly significant role in improving the information modernization of the construction as well as maintenance of roads traffic management.With a growing number of application of WebGIS over many fields, people always suppose that WebGIS serves as the C/S mode GIS, in the functions such as statistics, analysis, and query. The former modes worked inefficiently; some of others have to set up plug-in for IE. As the Web technology develops, nowadays, the AJAX has developed extremely, which makes it possible to take the place of those previous technologies and modes. And the Management System for Highway Material Field Based on WebGIS of Hunan is a specific application of WebGIS technology.In this paper, we have discussed the importance and necessity of the building of a Management System for Highway Material Field.
