As an important subject in the disciplines of computer vision and graphics, the job of photo-realistic 3D reconstruction plays an active role in every field of our daily life. Out of which texturing 3D model is an important part and our researches usually try to solve the following questions:Firstly, find a method to register 3D model with photos taken from different viewpoints around the object exactly.Secondly, special attention should be paid to the boundaries on the model where textures from different images meet, so as to avoid the seam effect caused by the variation of illumination condition. In this paper, our efforts could be summarized as follows:1. For the flaws of corner detection algorithm in searching feature points, we use ICP algorithm based on contour features to finish the registration between 2D images and 3D models.2. In order to achieve the nature transition of colors, that texture areas on both sides of the boundary, we apply a parameterization and color interpolation to the trigonometry meshes area at boundaries where different regions meet.By these jobs done, we can construct a texture atlas with texture-mapping functions in OpenGL graphics system. Experiments showed that our methods not only could keep as much as possible original texture details, but also provided a visually consistent effect.
