The radial-lateral static mechanical properties of aero-tyre are essential to aircraft stability and security. At present, there are only three test beds for the test of aero-tyre radial-lateral static mechanical properties in our country, but the test systems, which were backward technical level, and low intelligence level, were the equipments of the sixties and seventies of the last century. Therefore, for meeting the need of aero-tyre static mechanical property test, a set of aero-tyre radial-lateral pressure test bed with high precision, high reliability and high degree of automation is urgent need to design.The aero-tyre radial-lateral pressure loading test is an important part of the aero-tyre static mechanical property test. For the whole requirements of the aero-tyre radial-lateral pressure test, the overall function and the overall program of control system were designed, the hardware architecture based on "hydraulic system-sensor and transmitter-PLC-IPC" was built, and the fuzzy PID control algorithm which was successfully realized in S7-300PLC was used to realize the control of the test bed in the control system. For the large time-delay, nonlinear characteristics of the hydraulic system, the fuzzy parameter self-tuning PID control method, which could achieve the online self-tuning using STEP7 pointer addressing and look-up table method, was used in aero-tyre radial-lateral pressure test bed in order to achieve high precision and high reliability. In order to ensure high reliability and high stability of control system communication, the means of MPI communication, which called PRODAVE S7 dynamic link library in Delphi6.0 environment, was used for realizing the communication between IPC and PLC.The aero-tyre radial-lateral pressure test bed, where the radial pressure loading test and the radial-lateral pressure loading test can be carried out for the static mechanical properties of aero-tyre, including aero-tyre static strength and stiffness, was designed. The results showed that the aero-tyre radial-lateral pressure test bed had good running effect, small pressure feedback overshoot, short settling time, good following performance and high control precision, so the test bed achieved the desired design goals.
