Three-dimensional terrain visualization are the main part of geographic information systems (GIS), digital photogrammetry (DP) and remote sensing systems (RS), and a high degree of realistic rendering of three-dimensional graphics are an important research content of computer graphics (CG), and also one of the important technologies to set up "Digital Earth".Three-dimensional terrain visualization research is a discipline whose contents based on display, simplification, simulation of digital terrain model (Digital Terrain Model, DTM) or digital elevation model (Digital Elevation Model, DEM),it is a branch of computer graphics. In this paper, we use Delaunay triangulation method to get terrain sampling points, and use known data on the triangular surface interpolation encryption, to get generate rules Grid (GRID) data structure methods and achieve highly realistic three-dimensional terrain visualization. The subject researches scientific visualization techniques, virtual reality technology, object-oriented programming techniques, digital terrain model (DTM) and the basic theory of OpenGL, and further three-dimensional topography of the true expression of the practice. Using VC + +6.0 development language and the OpenGL graphics library develops a microcomputer-based platform for three-dimensional terrain display system and its application in dynamic monitoring of groundwater in Hohhot three-dimensional digital model of information systems, it is not only with the inquiry, but also automatically generates dynamic curves and so on, intuitively shows the dynamic characteristics of ground water level and the temporal and spatial distribution, and provide a scientific basis to government departments on the development and utilization of groundwater resources.
