Abstract:The use of computer graphics and image processing technology to build a virtual system to mimic reality construction scene, and achieve interactive processing, has been one of the goals that people pursue. With the continuous development of computer science and technology,3D modeling, rendering, animation technology constantly improving.which provides objective criteria for the study and implementation of construction visualization technology. This paper launches a series of studies on focus of realization of three-dimensional terrain visualization applications in hydraulic engineering, which has both theoretical and practical significance.This paper is based in Hunan Province Water Science Project "small watershed and water conservation construction information collection platform". For complex terrain conditions, difficult construction.diversity of construction equipment models and more advanced layout requirements in hydraulic engineering, with its main task of virtual visualization on the small watershed and water conservation project, the paper compares the existed various types of terrain visualization and scientifically analyzes the feasibility and necessity of the system while combining of water conservancy construction of Conduct. And it also proposes a imitating terrain simulation system to quickly generate or call various types of terrain and data model, with which it can reflect real-time terrain features as well as the progress status of the construction site and construction, and operates various types of terrain modeling system objects’functions in real-time.This paper researches on account of scientific visualization and computer graphics technology, and on the characteristics of the water conservancy project. The system develops on mature Microsoft VC environment, and makes fully use of variety of data and graphics category in OpenGL and using standard modular design to achieve various functions. In the process of the realization.by improving the packing box decision algorithm and pick-up algorithm, it increases the decision efficiency and the success rate of picking up the object coordinates in the simulation system,and raise the performance of the verified algorithm by experiment.Finally, this paper verifies how to build a fully fledged visualization water conservancy construction platform, whose research results will effectively improve construction efficiency in simulate water conservancy construction site.
