CSCD (Computer Supported Cooperative Design) has been one of the key technologies in the field of digital design and manufacture under the network environment, and the cooperative design among heterogeneous CAD systems is a research focus about it. The previous cooperative design systems often adopts the method of transmission datum of the model, However, because of the limitations of the current network Bandwidth, it is very difficult to achieve real-time communication among different users through this approach. In view of the present situation, how to achieve data exchange effectively among heterogeneous CAD systems has become research focus.This thesis studied the architecture of the heterogeneous CAD cooperative design systems, and a system's function model is designed. according to contrasting the following two kinds of typical architectures: the central type and the duplication type, this thesis used the mixed type to construct the system, and a semantic conflict manager is designed, it could solve the problem of semantic conflict among heterogeneous CAD systems and improved the efficiency of real-time response.At the same time, through the analyzed of the data exchange methods among the existing different CAD systems and the characteristics of the existing CAD system, this thesis proposed a data exchange method based on operation semantic and neutral modeling command within heterogeneous CAD systems, FDG, which is based on semantic feature modeling, is used to figure feature model information. The method makes full use of CAD system modeling high-level expression convergence to avoid the heterogeneity of the bottom data, and achieves data exchange among heterogeneous CAD systems. This thesis analyzed the key techniques which involved in heterogeneous CAD system's data exchange, and studied the composing principle of neutral modeling command, the obtainment of operation semantics and concurrent control. A new approach of concurrent control is presented. Then data exchange part is designed among heterogeneous CAD systems.Finally, the thought mentioned in the thesis is applied to the collaborative design between AutoCAD and HUST-CAID which is developed by the Research Institute of Computer Applied Techniques in Harbin University of Science & Technology. And the approach is proved to be feasible.
