In this thesis for the masterate,we expatiate on several common Liquid Crystal Displaymodes on the basis of liquid crystals'physical characters,and put our most attention to Thin-Film-Transistor Liquid Crystal Display's(TFT-LCD) structure and it's manufacture technics.Thisinvestigation gives us a broadly theory and application foundation to comprehend the whole Pro-duction Technics of Liquid Crystal Displays,perfect the working procedure technics,and studymore advanced manufacture technics.The work of our paper can be divided into following parts:(1) We have introduced the history of liquid crystals'theory and the development of LiquidCrystal Display.Then,we explain liquid crystals sorts and the characteristics of each one.(2)Taking liquid crystals physical characters as foundation,we have discussed its'dielectricanisotropy and the measurement of order-parameter,and refer to two different basic liquid crystalstheories which are Statistical Description theory and Continuum Elastic Body theory.(3)We have discussed applied optics about liquid crystals,such as refraction,light-spin andselective re?ection.We also talk about the matrix calculation method on Liquid Crystal Display inthis part,mainly relate to Jones matrix method and Berreman matrix method.(4)According to the quality of display,we show several display modes and their display prin-cipia.(5)We have discussed the TFT-LCD's structure,driving technique and color displaymethod.we also have illuminated it's central technology quality,such as interval distance of im-age elements,screen size,etc.(6)We have studied the primary manufacture working procedures and its'technics,dividedTFT-LCD manufacture working procedures into four steps,they are TFT Array Process,ColorFilter Fabrication Process,Liquid Crystal Cell Process and Module Assembly Process.
