As an important part of display technology,the Flat Panel Display?FPD?has played a vital role in the development of information technology,and has gradually become one of the core industries in the field of China's electronic information.Among flat panel display devices,the Liquid Crystal Display?LCD?is the fastest growing and most mature display device which has the wide range of applications.It has achieved industrialization and is still in rapid development.Although the liquid crystal display device is mature in design,engineering technology and industrial chain,there is still a large space for the improvement in high-quality,low-power,light-thin and other aspects which have become international research focus in recent years.Organic Light-Emitting Diode?OLED?is the new generation display technology which has the rapid development in recent years and has achieved the scale of industrialization.It has self-luminous,high contrast,wide viewing angle,fast response,wide temperature range,bendable and other excellent features.Due to the OLED display is very sensitive to moisture and oxygen,the encapsulation technology is particularly critical to improve OLED display performance,especially for the lifetime of flexible display.In this paper,our researches have focused on high-definition display,low-power technology,light-thin technology of liquid crystal display and the thin-film encapsulation technology for flexible OLED.For the high-definition display,the main factors affecting the color gamut were researched from the principle to resolve the poor color performance of LCD.We improved the liquid crystal's color gamut from traditional 70%NTSC to more than 100%NTSC with the use of the quantum dot LED bar and the design of the light-mixing cavity and the light guide plate.The influence of the wavelength of led chip and the wavelength of quantum dots on the color gamut was studied.It greatly enhanced the display effect and the competitiveness of LCD.For the low-power display,we developed the dynamic LED back-light control technology and high-efficiency image optimization processing technology,and designed the dynamic control technology that changed the brightness and color with the image content.The power consumption of the LCD was also varied with respect to the image content.Compared with static LED back-light,active dynamic LED back-light technology can effectively reduce the back-light power consumption by more than 40%and greatly improve the contrast of the liquid crystal display device.For the light-thin design,we reduced the mixed light distance of direct type LED back-light up to 50%through the research of the chip scale package high power LED device design,secondary optical lens optimization design,printed diffusion plate,module integration technology and other key technologies.We have realized the ultra-thin LED back-light module design and reduced the cost of the liquid crystal display module at the same time.For the flexible OLED display encapsulation,the effect of different oxygen source precursor on single-layer Al2O3 film was researched.The water vapor transmittance of Al2O3film with TMA+H2O+O3 oxygen source precursor is 5.43×10-5g/?m2.day?,which is higher than that of the Al2O3 film with single oxygen source reaction at the temperature of 40?and85%humidity.we proposed pure inorganic laminated thin film encapsulation structure.We discussed the relationship between the thin film encapsulation materials and structures with the performance of the flexible OLED.Different laminated structures of Al2O3/TiO2composite films were prepared at 80?by atomic layer deposition method.The water vapor transmission rate?WVTR?of the 5 nm/5 nm*8 dyads laminated Al2O3/TiO2 thin film reached 2.1×10-5g/?m2.day?by the calcium film test.The OLED encapsulated by optimized Al2O3/TiO2 laminated structure film exhibited good lifetime characteristics at high temperature and humidity conditions.The result will have application prospect on flexible OLED technology in the future.Based on the above key technologies,the flat panel display was optimized,and the performance including quality,power consumption,structure and reliability was greatly optimized.The main technologies were leading in the domestic level,and reflected the strong technological innovation capability.At the same time,these technologies were widely used in the terminal market,and related technologies and products met the requirements of industrial development and upgrading of the market.With the novel design and easy application,it has broad market prospects and has formed the scale of industrialization.The final product has been widely recognized by consumers,and achieved great economic and social benefit.These researches have great effect on the development of flat panel display industry.
