The chief task of this thesis is to reacquire the data of radar altimeter, which includes three parts: the first part to be acquired is the date of wave form including emitting wave and echo wave; the time delay between above-mentioned two waves contains the information of the height between the carrying airplane and the nadir point, in other words, the time delay in the process of echo wave returning to altimeter corresponds with the height in the way that the height can be derived from multiplying the time delay by the transmitting velocity of the wave; the second part of date to be acquired is the date of a small fraction of the map where the wave beam located down the carrying airplane can effective cover, this part of map is extracted from the larger one, containing the region covered by radar altimeter wave beam; the third part of data to be acquired is the data of carrying airplane flight path, namely the vertical projective points on the map generated in the course of the flight of the airplane.This thesis also holds analyses on the height measuring principles of radar altimeter, point target radar equations, surface target radar equations, and altimeter echo wave; derives radar equations from fundamental theories and equations; and deduce surface target radar equations based on above work. Work is also done on the analysis of altimeter working mode, which includes two types, namely pulse confinement and wave beam confinement, which can be mutually converted at different heights, and can even coexist under some special circumstances.Altimeter data acquisition software is to be developed to realize the data acquisition. The software development includes two parts; the first part is the design of the interface, which aims to cater the basic need of corresponding the three parts of data in the forms of wave form, map, and flight path; the second part is the coding of the program for altimeter data acquisition, which requires corresponding the time of wave form data with pp system time.
