| This thesis starts with the explanation of the concept and the varieties of digital STB (Set-top Box). And the future scene of STB with PVR (Personal Video Recording) function is analyzed through introducing the development status of STB in domestic and oversea market.Then the system design of PVR is introduced, which includes system demands, hardware platform, software architecture and software flow etc.Based on the above, the design of time-shift playing and trick-mode is emphasized,which covers main jobs of the author. Two flow charts for the implementation of time-shift playing are described and compared each other. The theory and method of trick-mode are demonstrated in detail.At last, the lack of this PVR design is indicated after summarizing it. And a potential orientation and idea is put forward for further research. |
