In automatic fare collection system, automatic ticket checking machines have the largest quantity, they are installed in the juncture of station pay area and non-pay area, to realize passengers passing in and out the station by self-assist ticket checking.At present, although the localization of most composition parts of the automatic ticket checking machine, international general operating systems such as DOS and Windows, are mostly used as operating system software.Some tasks in automatic fare collection system have strong real-time (tickets and cards treatment, barrier device and network communication treatment, etc), which all require rapid responses. While some operating systems (such as DOS) do not support multi-process programming and have weak real-time, which would cause disastrous consequences according to obstructive tasks, and could not guarantee real-time of key tasks and there are many faults in use. Due to the huge volume of some operating systems(Windows,XPe),there is a large demand of memory or difficulty in cutting, and at the same time, there are abnormal electric power phenomenon and system collapse phenomenon in use.This paper mainly studied principle of automatic fare collection system, analyzed automatic ticket checking machine equipment composition, working mode and principle. After introducing concrete function and working flow of automatic ticket checking machine, embedded operating system concept is introduced, and comparing to several popular embedded operating systems, the paper finally realized automatic ticket checking machine software design based on domestic real-time embedded operating system ReWorks.In exordium, the paper introduced the research intention and background of the program, analyzed research status of automatic ticket checking machine, put forward main work, innovative points and text structure.In the introduction of AFC and automatic ticket checking machine, the paper analyzed topology of AFC, introduced classification, function, principle, working mode, equipment composition, hardware architecture and software's function modules analysis of automatic ticket checking machine.In the introduction of embedded operating system and ReWorks, the paper described necessity of using real-time embedded operating system in automatic ticket checking machine, compared several popular embedded operating systems, and emphatically introduced architecture, characteristics and function of ReWorks.Subsequently, the paper introduced scalability of embedded operating system and device management mechanism of ReWorks, especially the customization and cutting of ReWorks according to demand of automatic ticket checking machines, including multi-serial port card driving, NVRAM file system and so on.Finally, the paper finished designing of automatic ticket checking machine software based on ReWorks, and division of task modules, and emphatically introduced tickets and cards treatment task, including tickets using method and validity checking flow of passing in and out the station.The design, development and test of the whole system are completed as well as the paper. This system is working stably in Shanghai Metro Extend Line Eight now.
