The medicine image can massively provide effective medicinal information in clinical, morphology etc, which is one of the most widespread new technology now using in aided medical diagnosis, orthopedic surgical operation. The medicine image 3D reconstruction technology is using two-dimensional medicine sequence images to reconstruct the three-dimensional model, which will provide direct-viewing, comprehensive, the accurate focus of infection and the normal tissue information for doctors, and provide a indispensable condition for imitation for biological organ's bionics manufacture. And it is now one of the hot spots in medicine image research domain.The traditional stomatognathic modeling owns the shortcomings, such as complex procedure, incorrect modeling structure. Due to the CT pictures own abundance and rigorous structured data, we use filtering, segmentation to extract the useful stomatognathic data, and then reconstruct them, so got the available modeling.In this thesis, we first discuss the principle of the emergence about CT images and details of the outstanding development of image processing toolkit-- VTK (Visualization toolkit) and ITK (Insight Segmentation and Registration Toolkit). Analysis the decoding of standards-based DICOM image, and then introduced the image pre-processing technology such as: gray-scale transformation and noise decline. After pre-processing, proposed a segmentation process, including: threshold segmentation, region extraction and region growth segmentation method. In the part of three-dimensional reconstruction, firstly, we introduced the iso-surface rendering, which is one classical reconstruction method. Secondly, describe the basic ideas and algorithms theory about Marching Cubes, analysis the reason why ambiguity occurs in the production of connections, and mention some methods to elimination the ambiguity. Point to the low efficiency about the MC algorithm, one improvement is proposed.Finally, we designed our own 3D reconstruction system, based on the study and research on the 3DMed software, which is developed by the Medical Image Processing Group, Institute of Automation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. We proposal the develop pattern based on VTK, ITK, which ITK is mainly for image segmentation while using VTK for reconstruction and the visualization, and achieved the interface design and system integration in VC++6.0. At present, this system has the function of reading data, image preprocessing, image segmentation, three-dimensional reconstruction, model preservation, etc.The result proved that this three-dimensional reconstruction system is available in reconstructing the stomatognathic modeling with integrity structure. And this system can provide a set of foundation research tool for orthodontics, oral Biomechanics, which can make the research related disciplines more objective, forward-looking and scientific, and make the deformity clinical diagnosis and correct-design more precise and normative.
