With the development of Computer Simulation Technology (CST), Locomotive Simulator(LS) has become the important instrument of career development in the field of Rail Transportation. Interface system(IS) of LS Console has been an important component part of LS, and it delivers signal data of driver's manipulative movements to the main Control Computer through Interface Computer(IC), realizing the data and operating information go up and down between different levels and transport between main control computer and locomotive control panel.With the subject investigated in this paper being the interface system of Locomotive Simulator Console, a program is proposed and implemented concerning the Interface Card hardware design and software program which are based on the PCI bus standard. This interface card can realize the transmission of digital information between Locomotive Simulator Console and interface computer, providing representative significance and reference value.The first half part of this thesis will mainly expound the PCI Bus Technology. First, it will in detail demonstrate profound discussion of its development, characteristics, Bus Operation and allocation separately. Then analysis of interface system of Locomotive simulator console will be presented, using PCI Bus special interface chip PCI9052 to realize PCI interface. The last part will be the general introduction about the functions, and distinguishing features of PCI9052 chip.The latter part of the thesis mainly gives an account of the PCI interface card's hardware design and software implementation. From the perspective of hardware design, specifically discussed are the design proposals of PCI interface module, Logic control module, Signal conditioning modules and D/A converter module, and the implement method of hardware circuit. From the perspective of software implementation, this thesis will focus on how to realize the control of logic module with hardware description language based on the environment of Quartus II, and how to develop the underlying drivers of PCI devices with the help of some softwares such as Win2000 DDK and Visual C++.After the tests of interface card, what's confirmed is the whole program's being complete and effective, being able to be adjusted based on the difference of its subjects and obtaining the characteristics of favorable versatility and expandability. This program has immensely decreased the system's developmental risk and duration of development.
