With the development process of the global economic integration speeding up and the formation of new economy, the traditional logistics industry has been unable to meet the growing logistics demand. Hence, its transformation to modern logistics is in need The research on the logisics enterprise reference model is beneficial to improving their own unreasonable points, adapting to the market and enhancing their competitiveness. Meanwhile,the standardization work about the business process included in the research of the reference model is significant for regulating the logistics software market and unifying the standards of the logistics software design.Several well-known enterprise reference architectures have been reviewed in this paper, including CIM-OSA, GERAM, BAAN/DEM, ARIS, PERA, SCOR and so on. And a comparison of these modeling frameworks has been done in the dimensions, views, view relationship,the coverage phase and the opening degrees. After that, ARIS has been chosen for the research. The definition of the enterprise reference model and its establishing method as well as its building process have been introduced briefly. Then the core business reference models of the third party logistics enterprise have been studied. The components of the enterprise reference model are the extension and enrichment to the reference model. The establishment of the model components is helpful for the modeling process to adapt to the environmental change rapidly,so the modeling process could be finished more rapidly. Therefore,issues on the components of enterprise reference model have been analysed including the particle size,positioning and division of the components. In the research of the core business reference model of the logistics enterprise combined with the thought of component, the core business has been divided into several parts for the description. In this way,the modeling difficulty has been eased, and the application of the reference model has become simple and convenient in the design of the information system. In addition,for exploring the application of the model components in the information system design,the conversion from eEPC diagrams to UML diagrams has been studied and it's used to research the mapping issues which are from bussiness model components to information systems. Use case model is the main part,because that use case could describe the function demand in the object oriented software development and drive the design and exploitation of the information system.However,there is a focus on the study of the logistics reference model in this paper,so the conversion and establishment of the use case model have been discussed while detailed information system analysis is not involved here. Finally,in an actual logistics enterprise informatization project,the total logistics pattern of this enterprise has been described by applying the logistics reference model including designing the models of the special layer and selecting the models of the general layer and partly general layer. This project has been evaluated and affirmed by relevant experts,so the feasibility of the establishment and application of the logistics reference model has been verified.
