Contemporary Citizens' Moral Education Research In The Domain Of Mass Media

Since reform and opening up, along with economic growth and social progress, mass media in our country has been developed rapidly. Mass media, as an important carrier in civic and moral education by using the media channels, carrying out civic and moral education, is an inevitable choice to strengthen the civic and moral education in the new period. The development of mass media is a "double-edged sword", which gives citizens a new social life, moral values, but also has negative impact on the citizens' moral values and their physical and mental health, and then brings serious challenges and enormous impact on the civic and moral education job. Therefore, in the process of strengthening civic and moral education, we never lose sight of the mass media. In this paper, at the theoretical basis of communication studies, moral education theory, the Marxist methodology, system theory and on the basis of others research results, using logical methods, comparison methods, the combination of theory and practice methods, from the definition of the mass media and civic virtue education, make clear the relationship between the mass media and the citizens' moral education; and sort out the current situation of citizens' moral education in the domain of mass media and the problems of existing, multi-contents, losing purpose and weaken effect is a complex environment, the paper analyses deeply the cause of the problem from society, the media itself and the audience ,which proposes the Countermeasures of strengthening the contemporary moral education in our country in the domain of mass media. Namely, the party and government strengthen the guidance and management of mass media; improve the quality of the mass media, improve the media literacy of the audience and absorb some useful achievements of foreign citizens' moral education. At the same time, It proposes to build the evaluation mechanisms of mass media and moral education. Through the study of this topic, I hope it will provide theoretical basis for exerting further and better moral educational function of the mass media in our country and it will spread the socialist ethical and cultural mainstream, and exert its positive role correctly. Besides, it will also further enhance the direction and the mass media as the domain for moral effectiveness of citizens' moral education in the domain of mass media and will prompt our country' s citizen moral education to enter the benign track of modernized development rapidly.
