Conceptual design is critical stage in the process of mechanical products design. The decisions made in the period of conceptual design will have significant effect on the product's cost, performance, reliability, safety and Environmental Impact. With the characteristic of high effectiveness and accuracy, the computer technology have been widely used in various industries. Also is it used in the mechanical products design. Currently, the most researches are focus on the stage of detailed design, however, there are few mature CAD tool used in the most creative period of conceptual design although many domestic and foreign scholars have done many researches and constructed different Theory System. Analyzaing the reasons we can find that there have little mathematical model which can easily reasoning by computer. To solve this problem, this paper introduces coding theory.This paper takes mechanical motion system as the research object. Based on the analysis of the attributes, the knowledge expressions of mechanism unit are completed. Subsequently, the coding of the mechanism unit are on researched which can be easily operated by computer. Secondly, the paper construct the reasoning model. Through the model's simple calculating, we can made the coding design requirements into the coding scheme. Thirdly, the paper use fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to evaluate the schemes. By building a comprehensive weight matrix, improving the previous weight of the evaluation method of a simple arithmetic average, the differences caused by the level of experts which can effects on the evaluation's accurate are fully reduced.Finally, the paper take the screw pump-driven system scheme design as an example. Through the example, the whole process of the method is demonstrated, and the practicality and the correctness are verified.This paper has do some theoretical basis work in the development of scheme automated selection system. The research work also has do some important practical value in shortening the product development cycle and improving design quality.
