Modeling And Application Of Conceptual Design Process Model Of Mechanical Products

In general, product design process consists of three or more stages including requirement analysis, conceptual design and detailed design. As the stage of product design reflecting intelligence of human and influencing ultimate scheme quality most sufficiently, conceptual design is considered as the most important technique of product design. Along with the quick development of the world economy, how to improve the quality of product, reduce the cost of product and shorten the lifecycle time of product is the biggest problem that the enterprise is facing to. This needs the uniform description and expression for the product information produced in the product lifecycle. This also needs building the whole and the accurate product model to realize the sharing of product information. So research of the product model is very important.Feature is not only informational carrier of product but also informational representation method in product design cycle. This paper introduces design feature into conceptual design stage and puts forward an effective approach based on design feature for generating scheme in early design stage in order to hold out compute-aided-conceptual design.Design feature is the basis of the research in the thesis. It contains the whole necessary information needed in the whole process of product design. The design feature information model which is put forward on base of this can support the information expression and reasoning in the stage of conceptual design. So it is essential and indispensable to clear up the general definition and category of design feature, this paper starts with the whole process of product design, gives design feature-based product information model, and analyzes its various aspects in detail.Based on design feature information model, this paper brings forward a layout creation methodology in early design stage based on constraints driven and combined with constraints network map. As the emphasis of the research, the paper analyzes profoundly the intension of layout constraints and classifies layout constraints according to their respective functions. The paper develops a prototype system by using VC++ and gives two application examples in the end. The basic layout scheme is brought forward by setting up design feature model and layout reasoning. These examples verify the effectiveness of design feature-based scheme generating method presented in this thesis.
