The design and implementation process of the campus network in Jinan Railway Institute of Technology is introduced in detail in this thesis, according to the related network techniques and functions, based on the ground of the campus network planning and designing in Jinan Railway Institute of Technology.The conceptions of internet and campus network are briefly introduced, the advantages and disadvantages for different kinds of organization techniques are compared, and the organization demands for the Institute campus network are also analyzed.Through the analysis and application of VLAN and 3-layer switching technologies, according to the demands for network organization, a popular three-layer network architecture model is designed, including core layer, aggregation layer and access layer. This model uses switched Ethernet as the mainstay, with star-type topology. For the network export, the dual exports are used.According to actual conditions, the S8512,S6503 and S3600 switches made by Huawei are used as the core layer, aggregation layer and access layer, respectively. The NE40 made by Huawei is chosen as the export router, and the Inspur series servers are selected as the host computer. As for the transmission medium, both optical cable among buildings and twisted-pair in buildings are utilized to fulfill the information transmission. Meanwhile, the new and old campus can be interconnected through MPLS-VPN.Some related organization forms and mature technologies are referred in this thesis. The scheme mentioned above achieves the expected result in the practical application.
