Psychological Evaluation Of Design Effect In Virtual Reality

Virtual reality technology is a new kind of designing means. It is used in a lot of fields, such as military affairs, medical treatment, education, spaceflight and so on. Though the VR technology can get better developed in other fields, there are still no idiographic rules about it like others, and there is yet no evaluation criteria on VR design effect. Psychology is continual developing. People's inner feelings have some causes of formation, characteristic, and condition, which is not the same with the effect of VR design in art moral. We must build a series of evaluation system in order to show the content of those synthetically, especially satisfy the mental demand of uses. The thesis will build a suit of psychological attributes evaluation criteria of deign effect which is suitable for the characteristics of VR and satisfy the uses' mental demand by analyzing the influencing factor of VR design's effect with psychological method, in order to make the communication between the designer and user convenient. The main contents include:1. Analyzing and introducing Research Status and significance of Psychological Evaluation in design effect of VR technology. Under the guidance of the basic principles of psychological evaluation and using methods of theory on perceptual knowledge and Psychological, this thesis establish a suit of methods used for psychological evaluation in design effect of VR .these methods can be used for Theoretical guidance both in the establishment of VR evaluation criteria and Actual projects .2. Analyzing the impacts on emotional mentality made by design elements of VR, such as Color, light, form and Model-driven platform, and finding out psychological elements affecting Psychological Evaluation in design effect of VR and causes of these elements. Laying the foundation for the establishment of Psychological evaluation factor used for PEDE (the psychological evaluation of deign effect)...3. Analyzing Technical factors affecting PEDE of virtual reality. According to the main characteristics of virtual reality ,this thesis analyzes a variety of technical factors reflecting effects of virtual environment, which include texture mapping ,lighting and Level of Detail technique . By applying and analyzing these technical factors in virtual city design, impacts on design effects of virtual reality made by these factors are analyzed.4. Establishing psychological evaluation criteria on psychological evaluation in virtualreality design effects in a digital design project used for modification of old city.This criteria is based both on PEDE methods and on technical and psychologicalfactors affecting PEDE in virtual reality. This thesis establishes Secondaryevaluation factors and gives respective weights on each factor. In accordance withthe principles of objectivity and using rational manner, this thesis Calculates user'sSatisfaction Degree, finds the lack of design and then improves the design effect.Now the VR design is continually developing. The show is the design theory is turnedto the mental taste which is higher level. The philosophic idea about "People areessential" is being better incarnated. The birth of PEDE should be combined withadvanced scientific theory and practice, be supplied with time and perfect itselfcontinuously, in order to supply the VR design with more scientific rational evaluationand make the effect better satisfy the users' needs all levels.
