The progress of technology is the necessary condition and important driving force for the development of modern communication, every change in communication has a profound impact on the way of human cognition and transformation of the world. From the communication perspective, virtual reality is a new means of communication, which has the ability to cross time and space, to represent the real environment, to achieve the interactive immersion experience,serving as an important media tool. As a burgeoning digital platform, technology accumlation and application value of virtual reality shows its brilliant future in communication field, research on virtual reality has forward-looking value.With comprehensive use of communicatio and combine with specific examples,this paper explores the conception of virtual reality news, and introduces its development status, characteristics, communication strategies and the limitations detailedly. It points out that the virtual reality news is a new form of news. In addition, based on theory, this paper discusses the design principles of virtual reality news. It carrys out design practice on the basis of the existing hardware equipment and the key technology. Then, building on the three levels of the communication effect, the paper designs a set of evaluation systeme to valuate the virtual reality news works "Xiao Yue Yue" to make further research on the communication effect of the virtual reality news. It further points out the virtual reality news, as a interesting way of reporting can stimulate the audience’s interest and guide the audience to think and judge, but the virtual reality news should strengthen the content to provide more rich, high-quality works to meet the diverse needs of the audience.This paper combines theory with practice to explore the feasibility of the virtual reality news. This essay believes that the virtual reality news is still in the initial stage of exploration and it should seek an organic balance point between the news and technology, content and form. Only in this way the virtual reality news can seize the opportunity to truly integrate into the communication activities, and use its own advantages in the media to promote the development of journalism and communication industry in a better direction.
