In recent years, the surgery simulation technology as an effective way of surgery training and planning has been developed rapidly. The purpose of surgery simulation system is to provide a realistic environment and well function of interactivity. The finite element method (FEM) has being used in surgery simulation system to improve the reality and the interactivity. In this paper, as the study of support, the kidney model is constructed by ANSYS (large universal finite element software). This simple effective geometry modeling and grid division has avoided the complex imagery processing.According to the laparoscope surgical simulation system's request, the author has conducted the careful research to finite element distortion method of the different soft tissues and chooses the Ligament as the FEM model based on the detailed research of the soft tissue's biomechanical properties. The soft tissue's biomechanical properties such as the viscoelasticity, the anisotropy and the nonlinearity can be characterized by adjusting modulus of elasticity, Poisson ratio and density. This method can simulate the creep and the nonlinearity of the soft tissue in the deformation. By adjusting related parameters, it can simulate different kinds of mechanical properties of the soft tissues. So using this method, the surgery simulation system can be simplified. It provides an efficient way for the accurate simulation of the tissue deformation in surgery simulation. The kidney model has been simulated on the ordinary computer. The experimental result indicated that this method has achieved the anticipated satisfactory effect both in physical realistic and in interactivity.
