In embedded systems, the emulator is an indispensable tool for development. Especially for primary embedded system development engineers, it can achieve the twice the result with half the effort with a powerful emulation development work. An embedded emulation and a testing system have the functions of supporting single-step, setting breakpoints, observing variables and registering contents, etc. Various commissioning function of variables and register changes can be observed by developers who understand clearly the whole process of operation condition, adjust timely and modify the program. The programmers, who needn't to burn a chip repeatedly, can complete the debugging programs.Based on the analysis of the principle designs of emulations which are commonly used in the current market, this dissertation put forward a design scheme of JTAT ARM emulation using the S3C44B0 ARM7 processor of Samsung company as a mainly CPU and transmit data on the Ethernet Interface . Not only can this emulation testing procedures drastically increase download speed, but also can achieve resources sharing. At the same time, since the programs are running on the target board when they are debugged, the emulation on the plate is closer to target hardware.This dissertation firstly discusses the design principles, the functions and the existing problems of the traditional emulation, and then it puts forward the ARM -JTAG emulation design which is based on the Ethernet interface S3C44B0. The designing of emulator is mainly divided into the following steps: firstly, it brings forward the overall design scheme, including hardware design and software design, secondly, it introduces the hardware structure of the emulation program design and development process in detail, especially for studying the Ethernet interface design, thirdly, it summaries the characteristics and functions of the emulator.
