In virtual assembly system, in order to improve the real-time, part entity usually through a simplified polygon modelexpressed.As a result, this method lossed the precise geometric model of information and a large number of engineering information.Now, general solution is through the secondary developingt of CAD software to access the neutral documents contained informations about parts assembly and engineering,Then,put them into the virtual assembly system finishing virtual assembly simulation.however,his method has a fatal deficiency, it can not achieve the virtual assembly function when the parts have not realize the assembly in CAD software. So this method does not shorten the development cycle of new products and realize reduce costs purpose.For these reasons above,the need for their applications and are being questioned.In order to solve these defection, this paper used database to store three-dimensional models and assemble informations, developed a virtual assembly-oriented simulation system software platform. Realized models virtual assembly simulation of the database, broaded the virtual assembly applications filed largely.This paper completed the following work:1. Designed a model information database, realized common parts and standard parts with its assembly information storage and management in the database. Users through the database interface module to facilitate realized model and constraint information storage operation. Database application module automatic classified the storage style and the established binding index through determing whether the model if a standard model.2. Designed and implemented a hierarchical collision detection algorithm, realized the real-time detection in the assembly process; Users can participate in virtual assembly process through using interactive equipment, get real-time feedback effects of the collision in the process;3. Developed a integrated software platform, this software through calling the OpenGL library to achieve a human-computer interaction, grid-based, model display and operation functions, and achieve a assembly simulation of parts in a virtual scene. Users can through software simulation information output module conveniently, accesses the results of collision detection timely, tracked and analysised on assembly process timely.4. Finally, this system got a good effect of assembly simulation and collision analysis through experiment verification.
