The Interference Between UWB And WiMax Communication Systems

WiMax is an emerging technology of broadband Wireless access, and it can provide high-speed connection with the Internet. WiMax has great advantages over other wireless communications technologies for the guarantee of QoS, High-speed of transmission and various related business. Many advanced techniques are adopted in WiMax, such as OFDM/OFDMA, AAS, MIMO, which lead the developing direction of future communications technology. Along with the developing regulation, WiMax will achieve the mobility of broadband business step by step. For it can cover an area of 25 to 30 miles, and may pose a threat to 3G, WiMax is paid full attention in the field.UWB wireless communications technology plays a very important role in the field of short-range wireless communications. For it does a great job on the anti-interference, transmission rate, broadband, electrical energy consumption and transmission power, UWB has been researched comprehensively during these years.Based on the importance and co-existence probability of these two systems, the research on the interference of the two systems is attached to high importance. But now, the coexistence problems of UWB system with many narrowband systems such UMTS, GSM, GPS, etc. have been investigated thoroughly in some literature, but the impact of UWB interference on WiMax systems has not been explored large enough.At first, this paper analyses that how the changes of transmission power and noise figure of UWB system effect the probability of interference. Then the emulation model is established by Matlab, and find out the relationship between UWB transmission power level and probability of interference on WiMax terminal, utilizing the Monte Carlo Analysis method. And eventually gains the conclusions of the emulation result.
