In recent years, along with the rapid development of mobile communications, mobile phones have gradually become the main communication tool in our daily life. Mobile phones are not only greatly convenient to people's life, but they are also unrestricted geographically, which, in turn, has challenged network operators with updated and higher requirements. As a daily routine, network optimization makes various operating companies increasingly invest in such work.As the only CDMA network operator in China mainland market, with its rapid development over the last seven years, China Unicom has developed more than 40 million users and wireless network capacity of up to 100 million users. It has become the world's largest CDMA network. China Unicom Qinzhou Branch is located in the border of Guangxi with a diversified geographical condition including coast, mountains, and hills, which has produced the special and complex terrain. The opening up and development of the Beibu Gulf has driven a high-speed user growth and significantly improved traffic. In recent years, due to the reduction in investment in CDMA networks, problems of wireless network can only be resolved by optimizing the work.This article sums up the elements and principles of CDMA-based wireless network optimization, and studies detailed key parameters. Based on the case of Qinzhou Unicom, it analyzes the specific traffic hot spots by testing and adjusting the parameters and the channel expansion boards, such as the relocation of the base station to cope with contradictions between local area coverage and capacity. A set of ideas on network optimization including balanced coverage, quality and efficiency under relatively scarce resources situation are discussed.This article also analyzes the important role of CDMA network in China's telecommunications development and its current situation. It puts forward the envisaged future for CDMA wireless network optimization, which is of great guiding significance for the future development of the telecommunications market.
