The IM Server Based On IMS

Nowadays, Instance Messaging has becoming more and more popular, and people often use it to communicate with others. The application of IM is very much; But these IM users cann't communicate with their friends who register to different IM application. In order to resolve this problem, the IM server is based on Session Initiation Protocol and SIP for Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions.The new IM sever will be based on IETF's RFC3261- Session Initial Protocol, this could make IM client communicate with each other.Inaddition, since there are many users of the existed IM , the IM server designs some gateway that make users of this IM Server to contact with their friends registered in other IM server such as MSN,QQ etc.The first chapter gives a brief introduction to the background of IM server. Informations about IMS and protocols will be found in the chapter followed. And in the next chapter, we will learn what IM Server is and what the relationship between the IM Server and MSRP Server is.The last two chapters are the main parts of this article that provide the most important design and implementation of MSRP Server. Chapter four draws out the requirements.The following chapter gives out the detailed design and realization in software. In this chapter we will know how the service flow is realized and how the system protection is implemented. And besides that, debugging and testing of the MSRP Server and IM server will also be found in the end, including the example of some complete test cases. The IM Server described in this article is based on a mature conception and is now widely used.
