On Media Asset Management Application In The TV Station Network

With the rapid development of the information technologies, digital tools and internet have been used in the Television program production. Media asset management (MAM) system is the core of network for TV programs producing and broadcasting. In the TV station network construction, MAM is a complex project integrating the storage, network, database and multimedia technologies.In this paper, the key technologies of the MAM were described firstly. Then some essential subjects were analyzed such as the net structure, technical standard, working procedure and system safety as well as the importance of MAM to these core links. With the producing, broadcasting and storage integration project of the Beijing Pinggu TV Station, the structural design, key technologies and equipments of the subsystems were introduced. The document interaction was also presented to improve the connectivity between MAM and other systems so as to realize the greatest effectiveness. Finally, the author gave some measures to guarantee system safety and looked into the future development of MAM.
