This paper first described the characteristics, development background and trends of fieldbus technology, summed up fieldbus development at home and abroad. Based on the fieldbus technology, it focused on the WirelessHART protocol, and analyzed on the network module and data communication.It designed a network system based on the WirelessHART system about the specific EFPT process control plant. Firstly, it chose the hardware material based on the protocol. In the work, it used the products which were compatible with the WirelessHART protocol, such as ProLinx gateway, SmartMeshIA-500 series of chips, wireless field devices and the Modicon M340 PLC. And then in the software work, the monitoring program included the human-machine interface program by used the software of Vijieo-Designer, and realization the monitoring and control procedures (A/D sampling, data processing, etc.) At last, it designed the communication procedures, which included the Data Link Layer and Application Layer. Finally, it analyzed the system performance of WirelessHART system based on the EFPT process control system. It discussed the performance of the delay, timer management and network manager. And it summed up the work on the follow-up of prospect.
