Computer simulation aims to be modeling a process of the research target formation and development and changes by constructing a simply mathematics abstract description model which can reflects the real objects of physical world, thus providing a powerful tool used to reveal the phenomenon,reveals the mechanism,found the law,predict the future,analog form。Plant is the most of common nature in landscape。The wide variety, growing intricacy and highly complex three-dimensional structure make plant have a feature of structure characteristic. The three-dimensional model of the plant has a broad prospect and can be used for virtual scene, virtual testing and virtual farms, and entertainment, advertising, landscape planning and even military simulation. This article explores a kind of way to expeditiousness establishment the three-dimensional model of the plant used in the design of the garden scene base on the demands of garden planning.This article focus on the way of simulation to street trees and lawns used to build three-dimensional landscape scenes, and the main purpose is to achieve a rapid and convenient means to simulate the plant based on the categories. In fact, there is a need for real-time viewing of the results in the garden planning and design work. However, at present we can only real-time preview of the model building because of the lack of an easy way to simulate garden plants. Paint Effects is one of the most powerful modules in the Maya software. Its brush library is rich in plant brush.. It is very easily to achieve many of the dazzling effect by Maya software. Brushes can also work with the particle system to simulate large area of the plant. In view of these characteristics, this text has analyzed and compared the various methods used to establish the three-dimensional model of the plant thoroughly, and presented a kind of feasible solution to fast simulated garden plant based on the plant of category through experiments.The main research content includes: the first is to examine the current model of the classification of plants for the plants model and the commonly method of modeling plant, then analysis the plant model's characteristic on the landscape design. The second is found a way of CAD model into Maya scenes on the basis of several experiments. This step has provided the possibility for this research technique's success. Then concretely research simulation plant's method which is in accordance with classification according to the design drawing characteristic. We can achieve the three-dimensional street tree's modeling by Paint effects brush connects with the imported path curve of the street. Research to modeling of the lawn is based on analysis and comparison modeling methods for lawn and emphatically study the particles objects work together with Paint Effects brush to achieve the modeling of lawn. Meanwhile, each modeling method has carried on the confirmation and was given some evaluation in the aspects of easily manipulate and the user-friendly. Finally, a three-dimensional plant simulation system was developed by with MEL script. Further the study of practical application of these three-dimensional models which is established by this system was making to prove that the research method has some certain applicability in the field of landscape design.
