Nowadays the computer technology is developing with each passing day, among which computer animation has grown up from something new to leading profession. It has entered 3D and CG generation, extensively adopted in film, TV, medical treatment, military, education etc. In art, modern artists use computer as new-type instrument, for example, animators can release from heavy and trivial work of traditional animation by using computer, and put more efforts on creative work. However, the development of animation industry places higher expectations to computer engineers, and thus promotes the birth and development of 3D animation software.Maya, as one of the prevailing 3D animation and render softwares, widely applied in film,TV, advertisement, games and so on, of which the powerful function and practicablity brings professinals to common understanding。In particular, its dynamic simulation system, including rigid body, soft body, hydrodynamics, fur and hair, makes Maya to be a powerful tool to creat special effects, while combining with scripting language. However, it's difficult to master dynamic simulation system, because Maya is a very complicated software package. Due to its programmabirity and extendibility, we can develop exterior plug-in to solve the above problem. Hence we can shorter time of 3D animation , and reduce repetitive work.This major purpose of the paper is through research of Maya's exterior plug-in to improve the efficacy of 3D animation. To be specific, the exterior plug-in can magically convert customer's target objective to target particle promptly and reliably. This "deformation with particle system" has used frequently in media, such as particle deformation, surface model discretized to particle model, particle polymerization of path constration etc. The research key and main achievement of the paper is as following:1. Based on study of the most widely used way and production of deformation with particle system at domestic and aboard, we design and optimize Maya deformation with particle system plug-in.2. While designing deformation with particle system plug-in, we adopt internal scripting language of Maya, Mel writing program, to control the process of deformation with particle system, including creation of particle emitter, particle emission, setting parameter of particle's quantity, speed, shape etc., the effect of air on particle and so forth.3. We design an arithmetic for calculating particle deformation with particle system path, which includes controlling the particle movement in different paths and the evenly distribution of formed particle on target model. According to the above arithmetic, we write specific aim for program converted to deformation with particle system plug-in.4. We test the plug-in after design.It has the following aspects:Testing of all deformation with particle system path, testing of example substitution, testing of direction control, testing of particle polymerization, testing of stress and otherwise. From the results of all tests, we can make particle deform in certain deformation with particle system path, achieve effect of particle substitute for target model, and control direction of particle movement.To sum up, the designed plug-in reaches anticipated goal.
