The Research And Development Of X Company's Warehouse Information System

With the expedited step of globalization of economy and the common cognizance of the great contributions that modern logistics brings to the development of economy, China's logistics is experiencing a fast development period. Aiming to help improve efficiency, control cost, and fit customers' needs, modern logistics tend to be more and more information-based, network-based, intelligentized, flexible, standard and socialized. Among those features of modern logistics, informationization is the core. Only if informationization is realized, network-based operation,systematism and flexibility can be achieved, and thereby logistics companies can improve efficiency to provide best-class service to the customer.The development of third party logistics makes more and more transnational companies pack up their logistics to professional logistics corporations, and in this way they can liberate themselves out of the time-consuming and tiring logistics management to focus on their own expertise. Like any other industry, efficient and accurate logistics cannot be splitted from a sound information management system, which is not only well-designed, but very stable and easy to operate.Thereby, this article attempted to research from a W/H management system of a third party logistics case, in which X company in Wuxi, Jiangsu province plays the role of the third party logistics provider for Japanese KM company. As the original system of X company has many defects and deficiencies, it's decided to explore a new system. And fortunately, I joined in the project in investigation, design, development and implementation. This article started with a review of history of logistics conception, the introduction of project application technology Status, and then the background situation of the program and the brief introduction of the original system, all of which brought valid solutions to enhance the effective support information system provides to its business management. Then, it introduced in details on the features of X company third party logistics W/H management system and its research process. The newest Microsoft research platform, NET technology, the latest data management system SQL SERVER 2005, advanced real time management wireless bar code intelligence terminal, etc were adopted and applied in the system. This article also then discussed about the net structure, part of the function introduction, typical interface, and key code of the management system. As a result of the successful development and implementation of the system, the W/H management of AS company was greatly improved. Some improper operation steps were optimized, the W/H operations including inbound, outbound and inventory check were much expedited, data accuracy was guaranteed, statistical functions was realized, and costs were decreased substantially. In the end, this article also revealed the defects of the system, generalized thought and market prosperity.
