Ball mill grinding circuit is the key process in cement production. The purpose is to get the suitable particle size of raw material, which has great influence on the quality of cement product. Ball mill grinding circuit is the typical time-varying system with strong coupling, time-delay. Due to its complexities and difficulties, the control design of the grinding circuit has attracted much attention.Predictive control is the popular control method, which is suitable for the process control. According to the characters, predictive control has been widely used in the process control. Therefore, this dissertation is relied on the National High-Tech Research Development Plan (863) subtopic: soft measurement, optimization unit-level control system design, development and engineering applications (NPS integrated cement production process control applications) issues. Aim at the 4# product line of Sunny Group, Grinding process model is obtained with history data by least square method and GPC scheme is realized with CPP programming language. With the OPC application in the DCS system, the grinding circuit automatic control is realized.The key point of grinding circuit automatic control is to find the effective ways to adjust the inner load of grinding circuit. The operation results demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of this control strategy.
