In the broadcasting industry, the large-scale sports gymnasium and building, high-quality audio transmission is the basic requirement, and the audio matrix is the core of the audio transmission in these occasions. Traditional audio matrix can no longer meet the needs of modern audio transmission. With the development of the digital and network technology, the upgrade of its digitalization and networking arise accordingly.Nowadays, CobraNet, as the widest applied real-time audio transmission technology, has characteristics of good interoperability, low cost, transmission of high-quality non-compressed audio signal, good reliability and stability, etc. This technology in the application of the audio matrix can significantly better the quality of audio signal transmission to improve the transmission convenience.The paper makes a comparison among distributed audio matrix based on CobraNet, the traditional audio matrix and PC-based distributed audio one, which shows huge advantage of the new audio transmission system .The audio matrix module is the core of the distributed audio matrix based on CobraNet. Using the chip LPC2138 of ARM7 as the controlling module and theSpartan-3A chip XC3S50A of Xilinx company as decoding, routing, audio measurement display driver module, it makes use of audio transmission module ( ADC,DAC,AES) to realize the audio signal transmission in the whole audio matrix , the switching of the audio channels and the real-time visual display of the audio scope.The paper analyzes the related hardware and software design, especially the FPGA functional module including its development environment, introduction of development language, configuration process and function and realization of each module. Finally, the paper briefly introduces realization process of distributed audio matrix based on CobraNet and related testing results.
