In the fields of computer science, ontology is a formal specification of a shared conceptualization. The main purpose of applying ontology is knowledge sharing and reusing. There are many criterias for building ontology. With the increasing number of ontologies, and as many criterias for building ontology exist, and as the creator and modeling method may be different, we must come to an agreement in order to implement information sharing, and that is to say, in order to achieve knowledge reuse and sharing among different ontologies, it is necessary to establish mapping among ontologies. Furthermore, the key of establishing mapping lies in finding entity pairs that are the same or similar in concept. Similarity measurement technology can well weigh the degree of similarity between two entities, and thus is of great benefit to establishing mapping. The paper introduces the related concept of ontology, ontology integration and ontology mapping, and then introduces ontology establishment methods and ontology description languages. After introduces the related knowledge of mapping relations, a method based on existed data mapping relations for mapping relations describing is proposed through combinding characteristics of the ontology mapping and the mapping rules are established through practical application and combinding existed common mapping rules. An improved mapping process is proposed throuth analysing the effect that mapping rules work in mapping process. The paper introduces the related knowledge of similarity and puts forward a new similarity algorithm. The algorithm thinks similarity over from concept name, concept attribute, concept hierarchy, concept instance synthetically. Finally, the paper expatiates on the realizing process of prototype system, which includes the application of the key technologies and the design of system. The method which the paper proposes is efficacious and feasible which is proved by test data.
